Any tips or help for a new investor/trader?

Hello. I have been interested in investing years ago and i would like to start taking action now. The pandemic hit hard and im lucky enough to keep my job. But i would like to have another source of income. That is why i am now interested in trading.
I know i will lose money and i know that it requires skill to actually earn. And those are the reasons why i want to be strategic about it. Here is my plan
  1. Invest in stocks for long term
  2. Use trading as another source of income. Trade with the money im ok to lose.
  3. For some weird luck, trade full-time if the income becomes bigger than 8am-5pm job.
Any tips and advice where can i start and how to navigate this? Is there a group or club that i should join for guidance, support etc? Sharing of experience and opinions are ok.
Please take note that index fund, UITF, PERA, PESO, MP2 etc are another story. Probably another post. My focus is trading stocks, forex and fmetf (this can be traded like stocks right?)
Sorry for the long post and thank you.

My experience with forex signals!

Hi my name is D and I have used multiple forex signal providers in the past and I would like to share my experience with the community in the hopes of warning others to wisely pick a signal provider and not burn their hard earned money like I did. ( I know this post is long but please give it a read before you start trading with any signal providers.)
So what made me start following signal providers? I had friends who were trading the forex market by themselves and making profits. I wanted to be like them however I was too impatient. I did not have the confidence to enter trades based on my own analysts as I was still in the learning stages but I still wanted to make some money from forex.
I started my search on instagram to find my first forex signal provider. It was then that I started my year long journey of subscribing to a signal provider and then switching to another one when the previous one was not profitable. (No. I did not switch provider right after a month as I believe every trader has bad months. I had multiple accounts to enter different signals from multiple providers.) After about a year, most of my accounts were down and I told myself I had to put a stop to this senseless burning of money.
I risk 2% for every trade no matter the size of my SL and TP. SL of 20 pips with TP of 40 pips? 2%. SL of 50 pips with TP of 100 pips? 2%. My lot size will just be smaller. Every profitable trader will agree that risk management is everything and is what keeps you in the game in the long run.
Over the many months I have collated the data and managed to pinpoint the exact reasons why my accounts were in a deficit even when the signal provider will show that it was a profitable month. There will be 5 reasons that I will be covering and I hope you take note of each one because if you see a signal provider doing one or more of these, it is a huge red flag that you will not be profitable if you follow it.
  1. Every post is showing off their lavish lifestyle and saying you should quit your 9-5 job
This is a huge huge red flag that the provider is not genuine. Real traders know that forex is not some get rich quick scheme and it takes months, even years of hardwork to start seeing results. They are trying to sell you a dream that you can get rich right away just by purchasing their signal package lol. Looking back, I realise that their analysts was total crap probably because they spent most of their time flexing on their gram. Genuine traders do not have to be such a douche about things as they know the value they offer and do not have to resort to such means to get attention.
  1. Bad risk reward ratio
Risk and reward ratio is everything. If your RR is 1:2. You only need to hit take profit 33% of the time to break even. 1:3? 25%, even better. Any percentage higher and you would be making money. Some signal providers only send trades with RR of maybe 1:1, some even lower than that. This means you have to hit take profit 50% of the time to break even. That is honestly pretty hard to do. So not only do you not make money, you end up losing.
  1. Setting multiple take profits
This is the biggest scam ever and how I was so stupid to not notice it sooner annoys me. Firstly, there is nothing wrong setting multiple take profits to secure some $$ first. However these providers do it in a way that makes it seem their week was profitable while in reality it was not. So let me show you how the maths works. I found an example of one of these trades from a provider I was once subscribed to. ( I have added in the number of pips from entry to save you from the calculations)
BUY XXXXXX NOW @ 1.59650 Sl: 1.59300 (35 pips) Tp1: 1.59822 (17.2 pips) Tp2: 1.60000 (35 pips) Tp3: 1.60200 (55 pips) Tp4: 1.60600 (95 pips) Tp5: 1.61000 (135 pips)
Wow! Looks good doesn't it. Nope it is actually not. Lets break it down. For calculation purposes assume that I risked 5% of my account for the entire trade. I would have to open 5 different positions, each risking 1% of my account. No now lets assume best case scenario and all the trades hit take profit, this is how much account growth I would have in total.
Tp1: 0.49% Tp2: 1% Tp3: 1.57% Tp4: 2.71% Tp5: 3.85%
Total of 9.62%!! Wow not too bad right almost a 1:2 RR. However this is rarely (almost never) the case. In reality it does not often hit TP 5, normally TP 3 and if you are lucky TP 4. In the case of TP 3 your RR would be negative. This factored in with not knowing when to set your SL to entry and having little clue when to actually take profit as TP 4 and TP 5 is unlikely you will be left with a huge drawdown.
So now for the best part. How forex signal providers make it seem that they are profitable. Lets say this trade hits SL, never mind its just a 35 pip loss, dont sweat it. Hits TP3 ... wow! 107 pip gain!!! (17.2+35+55) What a good trade! Yup you risked 5% for a 3% gain, nice one. Now you understand how people get scammed by those forex gurus posting huge pip gains and little losses, PIP GAIN DOES NOT EQUAL PROFITABILITY DO NOT BE FOOLED
  1. Unrealistic RR
Constant signals of RR of 1:4 and higher?? Sign me up please. Yup some providers do this and once the trade is entered they tell you price looks like it is about to retrace blah blah blah and ask you to close it at 1:0.5. A well known forex signal provider still does this but no name shall be mentioned. Worst still etc. you risked 100 pips for "400pips". And the provider celebrates that you caught at least 50 pips! 50 pips is a lot if your risk is maybe 15 pips, but you risked 100? No please that was terrible.
  1. Not caring that different currencies have different pip sizes
For example GBPAUD EURUSD have completely different pip sizes, great you are 60 pips up in GBPAUD and down 45 in EURUSD, still 15 pips in profit! Nope, lets assume you opened 1 lot for each trade, you will be up $410usd for GBPAUD and down $450usd for EURUSD. It is a totaly unnecessary gamble hoping that the trades with a bigger pip value will be up. One way to "counter" this to calculate it such that each pip value is the same. Lets say you want 1 pip to be 1USD, for GBPAUD it will be a 0.145 lot size, for EURUSD 0.1.
These are the reasons why a reliable signal provider is extremely hard to find and instead of earning some money quickly you will find yourself in a hole and in the cycle of changing signal providers. I personally feel it is better to spend your money learning forex and strategies from courses provided online and eventually trade by yourself. The key in forex is patience, having a good risk to reward ratio and full faith in your strategy.
If you have made it this far, I would like to thank you for taking your time to read my first reddit post. I hope you found it informative and please leave some feedback!
Help to share this post to prevent others from being scammed by forex”gurus”!!

How to Make Money Online

How to Make Money Online
When the internet first started, there were a few
lucky people who were able to take its full potential
and made a lot of money out of it. These online
businessmen pioneers were there to see how powerful
the internet can be and took advantage of it right
away. Today, however, you will see that almost every
type of online business is congested. There is
simply too much competition and you need to double
your efforts in order for your online business to
stand out from the rest. If you want to make money
online today, then you may want to try out new forms
of income making businesses from the internet.

make money online
So, just what are the new ways to make money online?

  1. First of all, if you have a new kind of online
business that only a few people know about, then you can
be sure that you will be able to take a big slice of
the big pie. On the internet, being the first is the
one who will always profit. You should be able to take
advantage of something that has potential early on in
order for you to avoid a lot of competition.

So, here are some of the new ways to make money
online.

The first is by becoming an online stock or FOREX
trader. Thanks to the power of the internet, the stock
market, and the FOREX market have made available for
everyone to trade. Also, you don’t even need to have
hundreds of thousands of dollars in order for you to
start investing in the stock market or even in the
FOREX market. With a few hundred dollars, you can
start trading.

Today, you will see that there are quite a lot of
online stock and FOREX brokerage websites that offer
online stock or FOREX trading. What you need to do is
sign up with the website, open an account, invest a
the minimum amount of money, and start trading.

All these things can happen right at the comforts of
your own home. As you can see, you don’t need to be on
the market floor to trade, and you don’t even have to
own a multinational company to do so. With a computer
with an active internet connection and some money to
invest, you will be able to start trading stocks or
currency.

Another new way to make money online is by becoming a
blogger. Many companies today are now trying to
outsource manpower because it is a lot cheaper and
more efficient to do so. Besides, by outsourcing
things that are not really that vital for the company,
you will be able to free up more office space that can
be used for things that are vital for the survival of
the company, such as expanding the research and
development department.

Bloggers are one of the positions that companies today
outsource. Although it is not really an important part
of the company, you have to remember that many people
today are now visiting the World Wide Web. Even if a
company is already well known and has a steady flow of
consumers, you have to remember that they will do
whatever it takes in order to get more people to buy
from them. So, because people are constantly visiting
the internet today, companies will hire bloggers to
write about their products and posting it on various
websites that are owned by the company.

The great thing about being a blogger is that they pay
is actually quite good, and you will be able to work
right at the comforts of your own home.

As you can see, there are quite a lot of ways to earn
money online. These are just some of the new forms of
income generating jobs and businesses from the
internet that you can try.

What I learned: Introduction to investing

Valuable information for new investors
Warning. Looooong post. TL:DR in the bottom.
Recently I have been chatting a ton with people who are very new to investing. I don’t claim to have mastered anything, however I have been able to help a lot of people through chats and messages. I’ve given advice and answered questions, and through that I found out a lot of problems new people run into, and decided to compile some of the points I found important. I will start this with the primary compiled information I usually give people when prompted, and then move on to specific questions I found important. A final note is that this is my own opinion and views, so feel free to disagree! I’d love input, even if I feel confident about this advice.
First off I’d recommend searching for posts about starting out & learning the basics, both here and on other investing/trading subreddits. The question has been asked hundreds of times, and you’ll find some amazing answers if you look.
The first thing you need to understand is that finance is all about information. If you want to learn, you need to take in information. All of the information. Books, news, financial statements, press releases and earning calls. Read everything. You will find hundreds of words you don’t understand, so look them up (investopedia have a majority of them). In the beginning you will struggle, however, as time goes by, you will start to understand. If you do not like reading, learn to like it. There is no way around this. If you find yourself investing without reading tons, you are going to lose.
Books to recommend: Anything written by Warren Buffet, A random walk down wall street by Burton Malkiel (how I started), Stress test by Timothy Geithner & The intelligent investor (“thick” but all important).
Pick out your favorite company in the world, and check if they are public. If they are, head over to their investor relations page and read the transcript to their latest earnings call. Read their financial statement (10-Q). If you don’t understand a word, look it up. This is frustrating but required. This method of reading, finding things you do not understand and looking it up (and learning it), will be the absolute unavoidable key to improvement.
There are 3 things you should consider buying as your first investment:
Large cap companies. These are the most risky you should consider buying. These large companies (Apple, Banks, Microsoft, 3M, JnJ, Walmart and the like) are stable, but can for sure give you a great return.
Specific ETFs. An ETF is a basket of stocks, often with some sort of focus. It gives you instant diversification. The specific ETFs are less risky than the single stocks, but hold risk nonetheless. Specific ETFs are baskets of stocks of varying number, letting you buy one security, and get a tiny portion of many companies. This lets you bet on a sector. Say you think that robotics and automation is the future, you can bet on that by investing in $ROBO. Other examples of these are $KWEB, chinese e-com, $FNG, media and tech, $ITA, aerospace and defence and $SOXX, semiconductors. These let you invest in a promising industry, without having the risk of a single company failing.
Lastly, and by far the best choice, is indexing. These are ETFS like $VOO, $VTI, $VWO and $VOOG, and is a way to take on the least amount of risk while still gaining along with the market. You get a wide basket of stocks, focusing on things like the S&P500 ($VOO), which is an index of large (minimum 6.1 billion USD) US companies. Historically , you can expect 7% annual gain here. That’s realistic. Anything offering much more than that without risk has tons of risk without disclosing it, per definition. $VOOG indexes growth companies, focusing less on the giants and more on the up and coming. $VWO focuses on emerging markets, getting places like brazil, russia and all over asia. Indexing is by far the best choice, and will very often gain you a steady growth. The final and great choice is $VTI, which is the global basket which contains the market as a whole.
Remember, if you have to ask simple questions, you should be indexing. Asking questions is very important and a great way to learn, however, you should not make specific investments unless you can make the call 100% yourself with confidence. If you are not sure, you are making a mistake in purchasing.
Lastly, and honestly most importantly, here is a list of things you should ALWAYS be able to answer before buying a security, equity or derivative:
  • Why am I getting this instead of an index? Where is the upside?
  • If the stock goes up, what action do I take? When do I sell? At what price or % gain.
  • If the stock goes down, when do I sell? At what % loss or a price.
  • What risks are there? How does the worst case realistic scenario look like?
  • Why am I making this investment right now? Is there a better time?
  • What exactly am I buying?*
And finally, always, without exception, perform your own Due Diligence. Don’t take advice from other people without understanding the situation yourself. If you have to ask questions, you should not own the equity. Ask about what you do not own. If you have to ask questions about an equity you already own, you have messed up, and should rethink your strategy.
A last but VITAL note is to keep a journal. You should note down every stock purchase you make or decided to not make, noting down the stock, price, date and answers to the 6 questions. This will help massively over time, where you can look back how you felt before and why you made decisions. It helps to keep temporary emotion out, as well as self reflecting which is the most vital learning method of any craft.
Q&A
Should I buy cheap stocks like $XXX for 4 dollars per share, or expensive stocks like $YYY for 500 dollars per share? IT DOES NOT MATTER. The price of the individual share have no effect whatsoever on the price of the company, how much you will gain or how much risk there is. If you buy 10 A-stocks for 1 dollashare, and if you buy 1 B-stock for 10 dollars/share, both these purchases are EXACTLY the same, in practice. If stock A gains 10% you earn $1.00, if stock B gains 10% you earn $1.00. Then the stocks are valued at $1.1 and $11 respectively. But there is no different. Don’t let the price of the share fool you. The only thing that matters is the market cap, which is the (number of shares*price of 1 share). The market cap is the cost of ALL the shares in the entire company. Some stocks like being expensive to seem exclusive and expensive, but it’s really the company's choice.
What numbers matter the most for the companies so I can compare? Well, that's complicated. DIfferent investors value different things. Some value P/E (price per earnings) and some value margin changes. You have to decide for yourself what matters, which leads to tons and tons of reading. Really, if you don't like reading and analyzing, this isn't something for you. Look at ETFs then. As a rule of thumb, 1 or 2 numbers is not enough to gauge the HUGE and COMPLEX being that is a corporation, so don’t get caught on something like P/E. Compare everything.
Will I be able to profit? Probably. As a new investor, especially a young one, will see both success and failure over time. This is natural. I recommend investing a smaller amount of money. Either you will gain a few % and be excited to learn and continue, or you will lose a few % and you find the ultimate opportunity to analyze what your mistake was.
Is $XXX enough money? Probably. It depends on your broker and fees. Any amount invested into the market is great, and a 10% increase is a 10% increase no matter how much you invest. Depending on your broker though, it might be easier or harder. With high commission, a smaller amount will be eaten by fees. With smaller amount, some expensive stocks (see $BRK.A) might be out of your reach. This shouldn’t be too much of a problem though.
What broker should I use? The best one for you! Hard question. It is country dependent. Look around. You want low commission and any perks you require. To start out, depending on how much money you have to invest, look for low-commission brokers. $0 - $3 is a good range per stock purchase. If you pay more than 2% on your investment, you lose 2% to buy in. This would generally cause stock to not be worth to buy. So do some thinking on your own, to invest you will have to get used to it. Some brokers let you buy partial shares as well, which might be a plus if your capital is low to buy the more expensive stocks.
What should I invest in? There are so many things! Like said above, cheap funds and common stock are good places to start. They are the core of investing, and should be your start. After that, move on and understand bonds. It will be all important during your career in investing. On top of that there are warrants, options, forex, commodities, and all kinds of additional derivatives. Stay clear of those completely until you can confidently make the call to try it out.
My stock increased/decreased in value. Should I sell?
Asking this question means that you weren’t thorough enough when you made the purchase. You should always have it written down on a paper. When do you get out? A valid answer is never. If you believe in the business and they prove themself strong, why ever sell? Some people like selling if they gain 30% or lose 30%. Some do the same on 15% respective 10%. It comes down to how much long term faith you have in the company, when you’ll need the money and what your risk tolerance is. Personally, when I buy a company, I will ignore it until something changes in the core business. I re-analyze each company each earning. It takes a lot of time, but its my method. If I buy something more high risk, I will sell at a set loss-% (20-40% loss) and the same on gain.
How does taxes work and how should I plan for taxes? Taxes are hard and complicated, but it is something you must understand how it works. Capital gains taxes are vital to understand. Sadly, they work differently in each country, so there is no easy answer except for you to look up it yourself. But know it, it is vital.
To end, these are the most important 4 rules of learning how to do all this:
  • Read. Everything.
  • Keep a journal and record the answers to all 6 questions each time you make a purchase, or decided in the end to not.
  • Each time in your reading if you come over a concept, word or idea that you do not understand, get used to looking it up and learning what it is. It’s key.
  • When you succeed, analyze if you got lucky or if your actual reasoning was the correct call. When you fail, analyze what your mistake was and write it down in your journal. Both are vital.
TL:DR: Investing is about reading. You should probably start by reading this now or give up. If you read it all, success! Keep going!
Disclaimer: Don't invest money that you can't afford to lose. You might lose all your funds. Probably don't.

Worst thing you people can do is to trade by guessing, following intuition, wishful thinking etc., fuck that, believe me, i opend bitfinex acc only because of iota listing, i didn't buy immediately, i knew that after 0.60 listing there will be dump, so i bought on .49 my first 800MI and the plan was i will sell on .80 but iota keeps falling more and more (Most of cryptos, not only IOTA) when it hit .30 i sold some btc and bought 3300 more iota, the plan was that i buy after every 50% but i honestly didnt believe that it can fall much more, in that time slack was on fire, few people were announcing next trades, they were margin shorting i cant remember the nicknames but i remember one guy was shorting for 10 minutes few times a day and usually he would tell us in advance on slack channel to be prepared and he made few K USD for that time, he was sayng that every day he's shorting just enough to have for restaurant and pocket money . I said to my self if one guy can move fucking market down for few cents with that ease than crypto is most fucked up market for investments, way before crypto freak show i was earning money on forex, and after initial loss of few thousands i finally learned to trade with profit, i payed for all beginner mistakes, looking to make huge money with no money, finding patterns on 5min chart, after bad trade make another one with bigger margin, scalping etc etc... all that stuff that doesn't work but you will not believe until you get hurt by your tactics, in other words you have to ruin some money that will teach you what you should and shoud not to do, and there is a lot of not to do in forex.
So scalping in forex is dumbest and most common beginner tactic, it can work for some time but in longrun you will lose all of initial capital. And this fucking guy is scalping with hundred thousand MI and there is no resistance to counter him, forex broker always bets against you, and the price will move in any direction where is less winners, but crypto exchanges will allow free fall, so that means you can forget swing trading on 3h 12h 1d charts, when you bet with 1d chart you will just wait more to loose money, result in longrun is disaster sooner or later you will get rammed by negative combo.
I follow few rules and i avoid to act against them, don't ever trade based on your wishful thinking, never invest more than one fifth of planed money, you will need that money to buy cheaper, if you invest all at once based on feeling the chances are you didn't enter position at flipering moment or you are realy lucky, and than how many times in a row you think is possible to win based on luck? Not many, fuck luck!
So days were passing by and IOTA hits .20 slack channel was nuclear, every bigger price drop David was showing on slack to calm people down, and usually he was more or less successful at least on short period of time. i honestly didn't believe iota can drop much further so i fomo sold some more btc and trow in 1000usd more into iota and now i have almost 10GI and i was for first time interested in crypto project i had feeling that IOTA will change the rules, no fees, infinite scalability etc. i really started to believe more and more in project, actually first time that i didn't thinking about 7-10% gain to cashout and forget about it.
It didn't pass much time iota hits .15 David is on slack and this time he's not preaching not to worry but he said something like that price is not good indicator of project value also that if they want they can pump iota to the moon in one day and that they are now reconsidering money rising for future projects, so you could tell he also didn't believe .15 IOTA and he's also disappointed.
So now what, buy more at .15 or wait for possible .10 people were calling? I decided to wait, and of course .15 was bottom but again trying to enter on trend change is fucking impossible, in those desprete times there was quite a few people that had more than few hundreds GI that bear guy had 300000 if i remember, he was funny guy he also didn't play with margin to much, he was saying that when iota hits 1usd we will not see him again, for me that wasn't making much sense, how can you plan your cahsout on 1usd when current price is around .15 -.17 and flipering is about to start but we steel don't know that yet, and my conclusion was this fucking guy was basing his strategy on guessing, fuck that guy, fuck 99% of slack TA experts, nobody know how to trade, not single guy in that time had some previous experience in trading, so as expected few shorters got caught in flipering on wrong side, one guy lost few TI shorting, same guy that was scalping market from ca .40 he was convince we will hit .10 again based on guessing. So that bear guy indeed vanished when iota hit 1 usd, and i knew that he wasn't the smartest guy around, he decided to exit because he was guessing that 1usd is top for iota, what a lesson, expensive one but still a lesson.
I am strating to ask my self am i the only fucking guy that bets on weekly Heikin Ashi chart and i honestly believe that very few people trade that way.
People are focused on distorted picture of 3h chart and they try to find resistance/support levels it can be profitable but also frustrating, lots of time wasted for few percent if you are lucky that day, the more positions you trade the risk of bad trade increases.
People that spend more than 10 minutes per day on exchange they don't know what they are doing, does guys are still in trial and error phase.
When i witness those horrible decisions based on nothing but guessing i am happy those margin guys lost massive amounts of money and also for guys that exited prematurely because of their poor decision lots of people made money, now i understand the therm " stupid money"
When you see this chart below, you don't have to guess anything, you just follow the trend, and again people are betting few times per day sometimes in different directions, how stupid is that?

I sold first time on 5.5usd 4GI, didn't follow my own tactic, but it couldn't end up better, i was renovating my apartment so i had to sell, with rest of iota i went to USDT at around 3 usd, and reenter around 1usd again etc etc, you get the picture.

For a long period to come, it cannot be denied that the global economic downturn is inevitable, and the ROI of not a few financial products keeps falling. As the economic downturn is ongoing while a continual rise of the commodity price, how can we ensure our asset preservation and appreciation? Most people always complained:” We missed out on the perfect timing to invest, if we bought bitcoin several years ago, we would be the winners!”
It is definitely that we live in the world with opportunities such as stocks, forex, P2P, etc. Those miracle words came out and became the magic to make lucky ones rich. However, most people did not catch fortunes as they wished. Bitcoin, a burgeoning digital asset, seems to be our new “Noah’s Ark”.
Since bitcoin was born, the price of bitcoin has risen by several ten thousands times for 10 years. Perhaps it just started its legend. Maybe the next 10 years is the period that bitcoin starts performing. If you already missed out on the stock market 10 years ago, then bitcoin might be your next train for the next 10 years. Fortunately, the 3rd halving of bitcoins is on the timetable of 2020. For normal investors, to buy and hold bitcoins from now on is the most perfect timing to invest.
Even then, the price of bitcoin today is still expensive, which is priced at about $7,500. For most investors, their affordance for buying bitcoins is low because they are short of budget. So, how can they solve this problem?

BTC Options, which only requires a few premium then the investors own the rights equal to holding bitcoins.
What is BTC Options?
In short, BTC Options is the rights in the future; When I buy BTC Options, I own the rights of bitcoin within a specific period. A BTC Options contract equals the rights of a bitcoin. In a way, options and spot trading both need to predict the bitcoin price direction in the future. But options trading allows users to buy call (Expect the market to be bullish) or put (Expect the market to be bearish).
What are the differences between BTC Options and the bitcoin on the spot trading market?
For example, BTC Options launched by BitOffer, which requires 0 fees, 0 margins, and no exercise.
Like what I mentioned before, A BTC Options contract quals the rights of a bitcoin, when the minimum price of a BTC Options contract is $5, if you buy 10 BTC Options contracts with $50, you would directly own the rights of 10 bitcoins.
When the bitcoin price rises from $7,500 to $8,000, $500 profits would be made by holding a bitcoin as well as buying a BTC Options contract. The profits are the same, but the budget difference is 1,500 times. And $5,000 profits would be made if buying 10 BTC Options contracts. Thus, we can see that BTC Options is a better choice than other investments.
How Do You Trade BTC Options?
For example, now the bitcoin price is $7,500, you predict that the bitcoin price will rise in an hour. Then you buy a 1-hour call options contract with $5. As you expect, the bitcoin price rises by $500 in an hour. When the contract settled, you will get $500 as the return, which is 100 times to your premium.
That is how options trading works, without paying the full amount, then you will be able to earn the price spread with a few premium.

Summer trading/investing posts see here

Every year a bunch of kids and college students ask the same exact question: Can I make money trading stocks over the summer. The answer is yes, but you specifically won't. A few will get lucky, but you probably won't.
Trading is not like playing Fortnite, your skill doesn't increase at a linear or an exponential pace even if you put more time into trading. The market punishes bad trades by taking your money, and then you can't play any longer. No matter how much time you spend watching the market or putting in practice trades, your real trades will get decimated.
You'll make the mistake of going all in, you'll pick penny stocks or meme stocks, you'll always buy at the top or you'll buy a falling knife just to see your trade lose value everyday afterwards, you'll buy before earnings and lose double digit % points, you'll buy 3x ETFs and get wrecked the day after with a double digit gap, you'll buy dividend paying stocks with unsustainable yields and you'll lose money, lastly you'll buy OTM calls and they'll expire worthless, and you'll never get better.
It takes time & effort to learn so you can be decent at trading, so do this:
As for investing, this involves holding shares for longer than a summer.
If you are passionate about the financial markets, then put in the time & effort to learn, and don't expect to make money over the summer for your first time trading

The Importance Of Choosing The Right Forex Broker And How to Do It

The Importance Of Choosing The Right Forex Broker And How to Do It
One of the most common ways of getting started with Forex trading is through a Forex broker. When you are a beginner Forex trader you are most likely to opt for the same alternative, but the mistake that most rookie traders make is choosing the wrong broker. If your first step does not go right then you can merely depend on luck and in a competitive field like the Forex market, being lucky is very rare. The best alternative is to have the right information and also use it well.
If you are thinking that how a Forex broker can be so important, here it is. The broker you choose will be the one that will be keeping your invested money in the account. Apart from this, a good broker will also be providing you their expertise about the changes happening in the market. This expertise comes with a fee but it is a small amount to pay for the information that can help you not just earn profits but also convert a loss into no loss.

Elite Trading Strategist
Choosing The Perfect Broker
A good broker will be transparent regarding his fees, commissions, etc. but mostly it is not the case. If you have not done your research on a broker, well you might have to face some unwelcome surprises. So you do not have to face all these unpleasantness, here is a guide to choose the right broker.

Hafizzat Rusli trading masterclass

1. Figure Yourself Out As An Investor

Different brokers offer different kinds of services and you will have to figure which kind of service will suit you the most. Whether you are going to invest big or small, how often you would like to invest, these are the things that can help make a final choice but that is not it. Choosing the right broker takes a lot more than this.

2. Figuring Your Affordability

The brokerage companies charge you a transaction fee. If you are a beginner and invested a small amount just to try your luck or to gain initial experience. Turns out you earned the profit, but what if the brokerage fee is 2 times more than what you earned. This will be the kind of shock that will leave you feeling humiliated for not choosing wisely. As a beginner choose the broker with less fee but also make sure if the account being provided is secure. The next point is about all that.

3. Always Choose A Regulated Broker Firm

A regulated is important to choose because that will automatically take care of the various security issues. If you are choosing a broker in the United States of America, he will be regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the National Futures Association (NFA). Similar organizations are present in France, Germany, United Kingdom, Austria, Canada, and Switzerland. The presence of regulating organizations does not mean that all the brokers are regulated so pick wisely. If you want to be sure if your broker is actually registered under the NFA, you can visit the website of NFA and cross-check to be sure and safe.

4. Be Thoroughly Informed About The Terms And Conditions Of The Brokerage Firm

The rules and regulations of a brokerage firm can be tricky to understand at times. If you do not take your time to understand these terms well and choose the broker just like that, there will be times when you will want to change the past but will not be able to. For example, some brokerage firms do not allow you to withdraw your investment or trade it instantly. In situations like these, you will be at a major loss. Although such terms also come with benefits, but that depends on the kind of investor you are.
With some brokers, the rules are as such that closing your account will be a tedious task. The broker does not want to lose you as a client and he/she can try various things for this. So, if you are willing to withdraw back you might have to waste a week's time or more with unnecessary things like filling lengthy forms, speak to the company's representative, take surveys, etc.

5. Find Out If You Will Get 24/6 coverage

24/6 means that you can consult your firm's customer service anytime between Sunday afternoon and Friday afternoon. Before you finally invest, put your broker through a small test. Give a call and see how quick and relevant are the responses from the broker's end.
Apart from choosing the right broker, you will also need to have a mentor to learn more about currency analysis and other factors responsible for Forex trading. You can always look up for a trading course online but if you want the best then Ha is your answer. to know more about his Forex trading course click here.

Avoid Making These 6 Mistakes As A Beginner At Forex Trade!

When you are new at something, some of the most common mistakes are expected from the beginners. If you have been well informed about them, it is possible that you can avoid them easily. To know and avoid making some of the common mistakes that a beginner trader can make read this post till the end.
1. Have No Plan For Trading
Many new traders start their trade without having a plan and in most of the cases, it converts into a loss until you are very lucky for that time. Though luck also does not work out always. Having a plan is very important to make your career in forex trade a successful one.
If you are using a financial advisor's services then you need not plan as you already are following the plan formed by your advisor. But to be a successful trader you will eventually have to take your own charge and start planning. Thus to formulate a plan keep these key point in your mind.
a. Style of trading
b. Method of analyzing
c. Managing The Risks
2. Stepping In Trade Without Analysis
Many new traders who do not have a mentor to guide them usually make this mistake and it eventually turns into a loss. Since the forex market is not a casino, you will have to analyze the market well if you want all your moves to be converted into a win. As a trader, you will have to analyze the following things.
a. Factors affecting the value of a currency
b. Present values of currencies in the market
c. Rate of fluctuation
d. For how long you are willing to lock your investment
There are various other factors too that need to be learned to be a pro trader. To be thorough with these things you can also join a forex trading course online.
3. Being Overconfident
To understand this, we can start with an example of a person who just learned driving. After a couple of days when the new driver has learned a few basics, he or she starts believing that they have learned everything, while they are still at a learning stage. This belief that they know everything makes them overconfident and leads to accidents or unfavorable experiences in situations which they have never experienced. A similar thing happens in the forex trade. After a few wins, the trader believes that they are ready for the trade while there are many other things to learn. Going big without experience and just overconfidence can make you suffer to a large scale.
4. Not Taking A Corrective Action Against The Mistakes
It is said that mistakes are the best lessons while you are in the learning process. But to make your mistakes a tool for learning, it is important that you should be taking corrective measures and this is one thing that most of the beginners in forex trading forget to follow. If you have lost in the trade, it is important to still have a cool mind,
which should be used to analyze the trading process and find the error. You can fix your error once you have found it ad avoid to repeat it in the future.
5. Borrowing Capital
This one mistake can spoil the entire career of a trader. When you have had a loss and even if you have lost all the investment in it, it is not advised to borrow the capital and start trading with it. After a loss, get back your capital through another job, then analyze your mistake, and when you have again earned enough money, then start trading again, but never trade with borrowed capital. If you lose again, you do not just have the pressure of losing the investment, but you also have the pressure of returning the borrowed money. Having a lot of pressure in forex trading is not a good sign of growth.
6. Not Having A Mentor
As a beginner at forex trade, it is essential to have a mentor. Though many make this mistake as they believe that reading information on the internet and books will be enough. The information on these sources can be right sometimes and sometimes wrong too. Even when it is right you seriously have very little idea on the right implementation.
A Genuine mentor such as Hafizzat Rusli will be able to guide you with right and wrong and also help you analyze the mistake that you have been making in the past.

Crypto exchange trade. Remember psychology!

https://medium.com/@sergiygolubyev/crypto-exchange-trade-remember-psychology-6d4433569d9d
Crypto Exchange is a high-tech platform in which all trade transactions are conducted using modern software created based on the latest IT solutions. The emergence of new types of currencies, in particular cryptocurrencies, gives a chance for the rapid development of the world economy as a whole. In turn, structural changes in the international economic system gave impetus to the emergence and development of new types of exchange technologies. Thus, crypto exchanges appeared which allowed its participants anywhere in the world to buy, sell and exchange one cryptocurrency for others, or for fiat of other countries. Each crypto exchange tries to offer customers convenient ways to convert financial instruments, and provides the ability to conduct transactions on its own terms. The high rates of development and distribution of cryptocurrencies, which are based on Blockchain, as well as the gradual wide recognition by the world community and leading economists, ensure the further improvement of exchange technologies. This means that in an effort to provide the most comfortable conditions for its customers, each crypto exchange will take them to an ever-higher quality level of service with innovative nuances. But at the same time, within the framework of the technological process of stock trading, which is available to users (from professional traders to amateurs), the question of psychology and its role in the decision making has not been canceled. Successful trading depends on 70% primarily on the psychology of a trader and only 30% on the trading scheme/strategy.
Trading on the exchange, it is necessary to develop discipline, self-control and be able to respond quickly to changing stock charts. All this will allow you to earn and minimize your losses more effectively. Everyone should remember, from the amateur to the professional, that in the financial markets you can not only earn money, but also lose money. Cryptocurrency rates are still subject to political and regulatory influences; their value is influenced by the reputation of the company's founders, informational insertions about blockchain projects and plans for their further development, scandals and disclosures. Nevertheless, there are simple rules for successful trading from the field of psychology, which will reduce the risks when trying to make money on cryptocurrency and not only. There are a number of problems that always hinder every beginner - amateur:
· Excitement
· Fear
· Greed
· Unwillingness to learn new things
· Imaginary visualization of results
All these problems have psychological aspects. Emotions, feelings and desires significantly influence the trading decisions made by the trader. This happens all the time, not only on traditional exchanges, but also in the cryptocurrency sphere as well. Excitement is an emotional state when it seems to a person that he is lucky, and as the series of successful transactions continues, he performs larger by volume financial transactions. Often, the excitement motivates to turn away from long-term transactions and trends, and look towards short-term operations. After all, it seems that the more often you successfully complete operations, the more capital you earn. Not at all! The more often you make mistakes, leading to a default on your account. Money only is earned on long-term trends and operations. Traders are often worried, fearing an unsuccessful deal closing.
Of course, a loss is bad, but sometimes it is better to close a position in minus than to lose a large amount only because of the hope of a quick price reversal. Therefore, fear often pushes for the wrong strategic decisions. Fear of loss as a result becomes a sentence for your positioning in profit. On the same face with fear, if not strange, is the factor of greed. Having essentially a different source of inspiration, greed, like fear, leads to a generally pitiable result — to the default of your trading account. The reluctance to learn new strategies, technologies, and denial of forecasting also leads to failure. Successful is who always strives to learn new things, and perceives the fact and necessity of continuous learning. Since learning is a process of striving for the progress of its results and professional qualities. Another scourge - Wish list or visualization. Everyone wants to see the price move in the right direction. This is pretty dangerous. By visualizing the price jump in the right direction, you can dream and invest too much in cryptocurrency. This will lead to losses. Here you should always remember to diversify your investments. Remember your psychological portrait even when you program your trading strategies, algorithms and bots. After all, your algorithm is essentially your psychological portrait. Finally, the above-mentioned flaws, especially in the strategy can dominate and damage your deposit and reputation. The main signs of competent crypto-trade are the same as on other exchanges (such as FOREX). This is a kind of algorithm for a sustainable profit strategy:
· Risk no more than 10% of the deposit
· Use risk per trade of 5% or less
· Do not close profitable deals too early
· Do not accumulate losing trades
· Fix quick speculative profit
· Respect the trend
· Pay more attention to liquid assets (cryptocurrency)
· Set your personal entry and exit rules for trades and stick to them
· Long-term trading strategy gives you maximum steady profits
· Do not use the principles of Martingale tactics if there is no experience. You cannot double the volume of the transaction, if it closed in the red zone. If a loss was incurred, then the cryptocurrency market situation was predicted incorrectly and it was necessary to work on improving the analytical skills, and not to conclude a larger deal, which probably also closes in the negative
It is obvious that the psychology of trading significantly affects the performance of stock speculation both in the traditional market and in the field of cryptocurrency. It is important to remember that the success of a person in any field of activity depends on the emotional component, namely the internal balance. Exchange trading is a nervous activity, and if you do not learn to take emotions under control, the results can be disastrous. The basis for achieving success in stock trading, in my opinion, are two fundamental factors. The first factor relates to the field of formulation of the trading idea, and the second - to the area of its implementation.
To formulate a trading idea, on the one hand, methods of technical and fundamental analysis are used to select an exchange instrument and determine the moment of opening and closing a position on it. On the other hand, capital management methods are used to determine the optimal size of the position being opened. As you know, without these two crucial moments it is impossible to achieve stable success in stock trading. As experience shows, for the most part, people have enough intelligence to master all the necessary theoretical knowledge of technical and fundamental analysis in a few months of intensive training. There are no special intellectual difficulties. But, as the same experience shows, this is clearly not enough for successful exchange trading, since all knowledge may turn out to be a useless load if the second success factor is not sufficiently present - the practical implementation of trading ideas, which is no longer based on the intellectual sphere, and psycho-emotional. It is within this area that the main problem arises for many traders, which prevents the receipt of stable profits. As a rule, this is due to the psycho-emotional profile of a person. It depends on how the trader will behave in the psychologically stressful situations that the exchange trading is full of. Inherent in all human emotions and feelings - fear, greed, excitement, envy, hope, etc. very often have a decisive influence on the behavior of traders, not allowing them to follow strictly the trading strategy and plan, even if they have one. From a psychological point of view, the process of stock exchange activity can be divided into stages, after which the trader can return to the starting point. The above scenarios and risk factors are one of the options for the behavior of an exchange speculator; however, it often happens exactly the opposite. Having suffered losses from his first transactions in the market, the trader loses interest in exchange trading, he gives up and he falls into despair. In this case, the first step to victory is the admission of defeat. It would seem silly and ridiculous, but it works. After that, there are two options: either the trader leaves the exchange forever, or returns to the battlefield. Such “returns” may occur more than once. In addition, at some other time, after repeated analysis of his actions, mistakes made and their consequences, a person from a beginner begins to turn into an experienced trader, which is marked by the stability of his activity and, perhaps, by slow, but surely growth of his deposit and profit. The psychological basis for success in trading, which leads to victory and the absence of which is equivalent to defeat, are as follows:
· It is not only the lack of self-control, discipline and focus on the process that causes the defeat
· Self-control, discipline and ability to concentrate is not enough to achieve success
· To achieve success, it is equally important to be able to adapt to changes
In principle, one can consider the idea that traditional approaches to the psychology of trading are limited. In the majority of benefits for traders, the key qualities necessary for successful exchange trading are only self-control and discipline. Of course, these qualities are necessary in any field of business activities. Trading is not an exception, especially considering that it is in the risk zone. But self-control and discipline are not enough to achieve success. Trading is a business. Moreover, any business does not stand still. You cannot find a formula for success and use it forever. You will need to monitor trends and constantly look for new successful solutions.
The main feature of a successful trader is adaptability to changes. The lack of development leads to defeat, large monetary losses. Many technology companies continued to produce stationary computers when laptops became popular. The same companies continued to produce laptops when tablets appeared and became popular. The products of these companies were of high quality, and their employees organized pre-set tasks in an organized manner. But they lost large sums due to the fact that they could not adapt to changes in demand. If we draw a parallel with the sphere of investment, the similarities will become noticeable. The stock market, like any other subject to change. One period is replaced by another. Those methods that allowed achieving success in the previous period can lead to failure in the current. The key concept in stock trading is volatility. The change in this indicates the onset of a new period. When volatility increases, trade becomes more risky. Accordingly, with a decrease in this indicator, the degree of risk during trading operations decreases. With a high level of volatility, trends most often unfold. Strong and weak positions can be swapped out. With a high level of volatility, trends continue for some time. From the foregoing, it should be concluded that market processes and methods during periods of high and low volatility differ strongly. You cannot use the same methods during changing market trends. Often it is the adherence to the previous methods, excessive discipline leads to collapse as well. The fact that the investor was defeated does not mean that he suddenly became morally unstable, unorganized. Trading is trading.
Therefore, we have every right to assert that under the psychology of trade in the markets is meant human preparedness for the risks that inevitably accompany any activity. Trading on the stock exchange is based on the interaction of the three most important components: capital management, analysis, and the psychology of trading (which cannot be considered in conjunction with the other aspects of trading). The psychology of human behavior is a source for understanding what is happening in financial markets. The source for understanding the events occurring in the financial markets and the behavior of traders during exchange trading is the psychology of the human person. Emotions — greed, fear, doubt, hope, a sense of self-preservation — are peculiar to any person in life — are clearly manifested in the hard rhythm of decision-making during the dynamic course of exchange trading (which was partially considered above). Knowledge of the human psychology and their behavioral characteristics must be used to achieve success. The psychology of a trader is formed from a multitude of grains - it is a belief in what one does in the stock market, in one’s actions, in own system of one’s decisions, in trading method. In addition, the psychology of a trader is that one can unload oneself emotionally, one does not accept the intellectual challenge that the stock market carries. On the contrary, becomes restrained, calm when making decisions on operations in the stock market. There are many situations where a trader expresses his attention and focus; he does not disperse it on the tracking of news factors or on the receipt of stimuli from the news agencies. Consequently, the crowd psychology is the factor that makes prices move, therefore, in addition to assessing one's own psychological state, one must be sensitive to changes in the mood of other market participants, move in the flow, not against it, and then success will not take long.
Of course, you can argue that why do I need this psychology? After all, besides creating your own strategies and individual work, some exchanges (including crypto exchanges) allow minimizing risks by following the strategies of experienced traders; this service is called a PAMM account. PAMM provides an opportunity for clients (Subscribers) to follow the trading strategy of experienced and professional traders (Providers). Provider's trading results are publicly available. With the help of the rating of accounts, graphs of profitability and reviews of other traders, you can choose the most suitable Provider and begin to follow his strategy. Again, in this case, the provider is a human with all the ensuing consequences. And psychological aspects are not foreign to professionals as well, including victories and mistakes. The financial market attracts people the possibility of obtaining independence, including financial. A successful trader can live and work in any country in the world without having either a boss or subordinates. The motivation of people on the exchanges can be different: from getting a higher percentage than from a bank to making several thousand dollars a day. At the same time, there are two main categories of people in the financial market (including cryptocurrencies): investors who acquire assets or currency for a relatively long period, and speculators who profit from changes in the prices of certain assets for short periods. Many believe, an easy way to make money is not for everybody. First, the skillful use and manipulation of the psychological aspects of a human make it possible to become a speculator. And this, of course, in addition to knowledge and analytical skills. Experience shows that successful speculation is the right state of mind. It would seem that this is the simplest thing that can be acquired by human. But in fact, this self-tuning is available to very few. It is also necessary to distinguish the psychology of the market and the personal psychology of the trader. The behavior of the market as a whole depends on people, since it is the stock market crowd that determines its direction. However, quite often traders lose sight of the most important component of victory - managing their personal emotions, that is, their psychology. Without control over oneself, there can be no control over one’s trading capital. If a trader is not tuned to the trend range of the stock crowd, if he does not pay attention to changes in her psychology, then he will also not achieve significant success in trading. To succeed on the exchange, one needs to take a sober look at exchange trading, recognize its trends and their changes, and not waste time on dreams or lamenting about failures.
Any price of a financial instrument is a momentary agreement on its value, reached by a market crowd and expressed in the fact of a transaction, i.e. it is the equilibrium point between the players for a rise and a fall, or the "equilibrium" price. Crowds of traders create asset prices: buyers, sellers and fluctuating market watchers. Charts of prices and trading volumes reflect the psychology of the exchange. In addition, this is always worth remembering! After all, the main purpose of the presence of the analysis of psychology in stock trading is not the quantity, but the quality of transactions. A person striving to become a good trader needs to remember the words of DiNapoli, a well-known stock exchange trader: “The most important trading tool is not a computer, not a service for supplying information, or even methods developed by a trader. It is he himself! If a trader is not suitable for this - he should not trade at all”! Therefore, before pushing orders on the trading platform, think about whether you are suitable for this role.

Importance of Social Trading in Forex Brokerage

Social Trading Platforms has revolutionized the forex market to a great extent. It has been proven to be quite beneficial for new traders to learn new skills, strategies, and tactics for forex world in a short duration of time. But the question arises, “How are social trading platforms benefiting the forex brokers?”
If you are one of the forex brokers who already know some good strategies to earn good money in forex market, social trading platform might seem non-beneficial for you. But that is not true. A social trading platform is a strong tool from which forex brokers can highly benefit from.
Social Trading platform is a place where there is low risk of losing money in a forex market and therefore, new traders do not hesitate participating in forex market via these platforms. Participation of these new traders opens up a wide range of clients that brokers can acquire by having conversations, building trusts and gaining reliability from new traders. The lifetime of an average trader on social trading platforms are 14% higher than the ones who are not.
People follow experienced brokers on these social trading platforms. By making a good image and building a good relationship with your followers, you can actually retain all the followers. The new traders will build a trust in you and will be comfortable with your brokerage instead of going to a very new broker again.
Social trading platforms connects traders from almost all regions of the world. This can be the biggest platform to make more number of clientele. It will increase your trading activity by more than 50%. One of the reason behind this is traders can be from different time zones and will be active even in your downtime. Another reason for increased trading activity is whenever a broker opens a position, every new trader copying will also open the same position at the same time. When profiting by traders, these traders spend more time on these platforms which eventually increases trading activity and retention.
The attrition rates of social trading platforms are thus very low and it helps in boosting the retention of the traders. As a broker gets more and more followers, they tend to become a big community, attracting more new traders. The cycle thus grows and a forex broker can highly benefit from such social trading platforms, acquiring more and more traders every day.
Here is a list of forex brokers who are earning a big time using social trading platform as a tool.
  1. Jeroen Dekker with a gain percentage of 123.20% and 1905 Copiers.
  2. Fabian Gerspacher with a gain percentage of 47.08% and 1490 Copiers.
  3. Sergejs Kovalonoks with a gain percentage of 41.28% and 1631 Copiers.
There are more like them such as: LaserWinner on Zulu platform who has drawdown about 3 times than the average gains of other traders who do not use social trading platform opening 12 trades at the same time.
The average pip gains on these social trading platforms are at least 11-12 per trade. A broker named as TrendingFund have made over $15000 profit for their live followers. There are various such brokers (Janhne, 4exPirate, Jaynemenis, EdleMetalle, Luck Pound, Berrau, SyConNET, Liam Davies) who are making limitless profit from such social trading platforms.
The fond of social trading platforms are growing more and more in countries like Sydney, Tokyo, Hong-Kong, Bahrain, Zurich, London, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many European and Asian countries as well. It has become the largest financial market in the world and registered a turnaround of more than 1600 billion dollars more and more traders are signing up on these social trading platforms to make a good trade and earn money. As the number of these new traders grows, the opportunities of high-end brokers to make a good client list grows.
How to become a Broker that other’s follow? Make a good record: Do not expect that as soon as you join a trading platform, people will start to follow you. People rely on your track record. So in early stages build a good track record which will encourage others to follow you.
Make sure you followers are also making good money: As soon as your followers will start making profits, it will encourage other traders to follow you. Real money speaks for itself.
Make a clear trading strategy and the same goes with your profile: The better your profile is, the reliable you look to the other traders.
Do not rely on automated systems completely: People rely on brokers who keep on making manual interventions with the change in market.
Set stop levels to manage risk: If you don’t keep a stop level, it will mean unlimited risk for your followers.
Keep check on your draw-down: It acts as a negative quotient for a broker’s account.
Keep a check on your winning percentage: Anything above 85% will portray that you carry a high draw-down risk because it will look like you were holding on to a losing position until it eventually turned positive again.
Communicate with your followers frequently: Keep them updated about your strategy and market. This habit will give your followers a sense that you analyze the market closely and hence you will react and adjust to market change effectively and much sooner.
Followers and traders look closely on how you react and behaved in a bad run: Keeping calm and sticking to your tried and tested principals could be your mantras. Do not start chasing your losses. It creates a bad impression on you followers and other traders.
Keep a track of your risks and traders and gradually you will build a remarkable network with immense profit. Internet in booming these days and so are these social trading platforms. Using these platforms can turn into your best decisions and one of your major income tool.

Fun Fact: 90% of traders LOSE and net NO return on trades... you might as well gamble in a casino as the house always wins (for those traders); atleast that way you have fun.

Honestly I think the problem they are having (no offense) is one that many others are as well; that is a bunch of moon kiddies saw BTC reach its ATH and the hype surrounding it circa Q4 2017 and thought to themselves that this is a "get rich quick scheme" and that it's "not so hard" and they'd make a killing only to realize its not half as easy as it looks...

As a seasoned swing-trader who's been doing this full time since q3 2015; i can tell you that your chance to win the lottery passed in 2009, and thanks to the newbies I like to call "Mainstream FUDDERS", my chance to gain returns over 1,000% are LONG gone... IMHO 2016-2017 was the gold rush/golden age of crypto and we will never EVER see returns like that in the fiscal calender for the market EVER again.

last few years crypto market has been comparable to the band Nirvana circa 1989; they were touring worldwide but only had Bleach (which was a great album but still underground and they were still living off ramen & red bull (or in Kurt's case; amphetamines & heroin) while sleeping in their tour bus.

the shows were awesome. the ambience was great. the crowds were filled with die-hard underground punk rock fans and we weren't "normal" or "mainstream" but we loved it and embraced it. then smells like teen spirit and nevermind was released in 1991 and I would have to say Q4 2017 is sort of Bitcoin's "Nevermind" in the sense that it was never the same again and never will be the same again.... everybody is into it, everybody thinks they know it, yet 90% of them are pretentious & insecure losers who are trying to act like the wolf of wall st. cause they got lucky and got a decent return on one trade from mommy & daddy's allowance.

it makes me cringe when people who didn't even know the difference between a coin or a token or that blockchain and btc are not mutually exclusive try to lecture me about crypto or post their bullshit "TA" confusing everyone as well as constantly FUD/FOMOing and thus making conducting TA for the real traders who know what they're doing much more difficult to make accurate projections.

regardless, while the golden age has passed; crypto is still growing (just passed visa in processed transactions of 3 trillion this week) with no signs of slowing down despite the fact that we've been bearish for pretty much 3 quarters straight now (all of 2018 basically) yet i've still managed to net returns & earn profit in a game where the house always wins (atleast now)

i'm no whale by any means. i'm not a lambo moon kiddie either (not to be confused with a whale) as lambo kiddies are just idiots who stumbled upon BTC circa 2009 and happened to get lucky and hodl for 5 years then goes around touting youtube vids of their "btc lambo" and their "btc mansion" acting like they know anything about brokering whatsoever. I have however, made a modest living off forex trading crypto & have been blessed to be able to buy a house & car and feed my family. Do not mistaken me for a lambo moon kiddie; I got involved much too late for that... so unlike those bastards I had to earn every penny I got swing-trading using strategies & formulas I had known and learned from stocks and just ran with it from there to develop my own formula.

this is my biggest concern; the bubble may or may not burst is the argument we had back in the day (2-3 years ago; which is "back in the day" considering crypto market moves like dog years) and now i'm not worried at all that btc will collapse because it's become mainstream. however i am worried that the FUDDERS (no offense again) like yourself will end destroying the community like Nirvana in 1994 when Kurt blew his brains out.

with that being said; there's nothing wrong with wanting to get involved in crypto or being new to crypto; just be modest, humble, don't post TA & HODL don't bother trading cause you don't know what you're doing and don't EVER try to lecture or disparage a seasoned broker if he's giving you advise/TA, you should be appreciative of it and be willing to learn not thinking you know more than him or trying to outwit him.

we see this all the time on cryptotwitter, the FUDDERS that joined up post Q4 '17 who have a massive following posting "TA" that gets tens of thousands of views due to their massive following (that they only have because they're earned it in some other capacity, whether blogging on youtube or w.e) and the man with 400 followers gets 20 likes on TA that's 100% accurate. hidden gems I like to call them. those are the people you want to follow. not the ones who have a shitload of followers, but the ones who are accurate. it's hard to find them; but the needle in the haystack is made of gold so it's worth looking for.

on that note; best of luck to you, and sorry if I offended anyone, but the truth hurts.

Peace & Love

- A random guy.

Andanar's and Ablan's ~~brain farts~~ speeches in London

Salamat the thread: https://twitter.com/JRDCastillo24
Andanar claims many families of OFWs become dysfunctional due to drugs.
Andanar claims that the govt spoke w/ 150 OFWs in Dubai who were maltreated by their employers. Dubai OFWs earn up to 1500 dirhams only.
Andanar: Most of you here in the UK are from middle class families. He said OFWs in London are lucky and have better wages.
  • ...
Andanar enumerated the latest SWS&PulseAsia surveys and said that Duterte is supported by a great majority of the Filipinos.
  • The SWS Survey showed a drastic drop in both approval and trust ratings for the president.
Andanar calls @TrillanesSonny & @SenLeiladeLima as “maiingay”. He asked: Bakit hindi nakukulong si Trillanes? Crowd erupts in laughter. Andanar claims that Trillanes is not in jail because Duterte respects his freedom of speech.
Andanar: Kung maingay si Trillanes, mas mag-ingay din tayo. Kung ginagago ni Trillanes ang pangulo, gaguhin din natin siya.
Andanar talked about planned destabilisation against the Duterte government and cited EDSA 1 & 2 as examples of destabilisation. Martin Andanar, head of the PCOO, calls EDSA 1 & 2 as destabilisation.
  • Uh. Ano daw ulit sinabi niya? Did he forget that EDSA 1 gave rise to Duterte in politics?
Crowd laughs and chants “Duterte! Duterte!”.
  • Pag kabastusan, si Duterte agad ang tinatawag. Bakit kaya?
Andanar: Napakagaling ng ating pangulo. Siya lang ang pangulo sa SEA ang naka-talo sa ISIS in 140+ days. Andanar claims that Duterte managed to defeat “ISIS & Maute” even though the terrorists were supported by ISIS in the middle east.
  • Thank you brave men and women of the AFP. Duterte didn't fire a single shot towards the Maute. And is in fact on record telling the Maute to burn Marawi
Andanar: Yung mga maiingay na pala-iyot, ang problema sa kanila hanggang ingay lang. Wala naman silang napatunayan.
  • ...
Andanar: Yung mga Prime Ministers and Presidents of other countries are all supportive of President Duterte.
  • Teka, diba galit kayo sa EU kasi nakikialam?
  • READ: Other countries = China.
Andanar: Yung mga nasa baba lang ang maiingay dahil nga kulang sila sa iyot.
  • ...
Andanar enumerates all SEA countries and said that all those countries have no complains about President Duterte.
Andanar: Donald Trump believes in President Duterte.
Andanar: Agrabyado tayo sa Western media. Wala tayong pera. Ayaw gumastos ni presidente sa PR.
Martin Andanar thanks Malcolm Conlan, an ambulance crew in the UK, for his support of President Duterte.
  • Libre yan, hindi katulad ke sass. Pero akala ko ba ayaw niyo ng may foreigner na nakikialam?
Andanar on @TrillanesSonny: Panahon pa ni Gloria, inaway niya. Inaway nyasi Angie Reyes. Walang nirerespeto si Trillanes.Aabutin din ng karma si @TrillanesSonny. Kakarmahin din yan. Yung kanyang bunganga, hindi talaga mapigilan.
  • Wag pahalata Andanar.
Andanar said the government is doing its best to reform the country for the betterment of all.
Andanar: Kapag mga dilaw at si tita Cory ang nag-RevGov, ok lang. Kapag ang gobyerno ngayon ang mag-RevGov, ayaw nila. Double Standards.
  • Wag tanga Andanar. The RevGov under Cory was a necessity, designed to bring the Philippines back to democracy after Marcos's Martial Law. Ilalagay mo ang powers na yan kay Duterte? Magisa ka.
Andanar claims that a lot of the problems the government is solving now like the MRT and Yolanda housing were made by the previous admin.
  • Which Duterte said was EASY TO SOLVE, tapang at malasakit (political will) lang ang kelangan.
Andanar claims P800k was used to build Yolanda houses while the current government spent only P200k for Marawi temporary housing.
Andanar: Mismanagement like Yolanda will not happen under this government.
  • So how is Duterte managing the War on Drugs? the MRT?
Andanar: 3k deaths are from legit police ops. 10k deaths, halo-halo na yan.
  • ...
Andanar: Bine-brainwash tayong lahat ng media sa ating paligid. They don’t want to believe the PNP. They have a different agenda.
Andanar: Media is turning a blind eye on the truth. They simply don’t like Du30. Liberal-left don’t want him, maybe they’re hiding something.
  • Ang daming tao ang "don't like Duterte." Natanong mo na ba sa self mo bakit?
Andanar hits Human rights groups. He claims they’re more concerned with the human rights of Maute and Hapilon.
  • ...
Andanar: Duterte doesn’t like legalisation of drugs. He doesn’t want the country to go to the dogs.
Andanar: Itong Human Rights, ayaw ipaglaban ang human rights ng mga pulis at sundalo. May kinikilingan ang human rights.
  • ...
Now it's Kris Ablan's turn.
Kris Ablan: Get your facts/news from PNA, PIA and PTV.
  • Diosko Lei, please reangle this!
Kris Ablan: @nytimes didn’t publish our point by point responses to the negative articles they wrote about President Duterte.
  • Maybe it's because the NYT doesn't publish lies? Baka lang ha, di ko sure.
Kris Ablan said that Press Attaches will be reactivated in London, US, Singapore and Middle East once they get the budget.
  • Fire Mocha and Badoy, para mas maraming ma-reactivate na press attaches.
Kris Ablan said that the govt is doing consultations across the country about federalism but the media isn’t reporting it comprehensively.
  • Kasi wala naman. Bakit di kayo magreport, di ba, PNA, PIA, and PTV. hahahaha Kahit state controlled walang reports di ba? Edi wala.

X-Post from r/Bitcoin - 40% - 50% Tax on Bitcoin Trading in the UK - is anyone else paying this?

Hi All
I posted this yesterday on Bitcoin and someone there suggested that this might be a fruitful sub to post on. I am looking for confirmation that the advice I have received is correct, or alternative approaches I could adopt. Thank you in advance for any replies.
I am posting this for two reasons, firstly, because after looking around I have not seen real information about how UK HMRC is likely to treat Bitcoin trading gains on a tax return. Most people seem to think it will be Capital Gains Tax which is not what I have been told. And secondly, although I can't do anything about it this for last year I may be able to take (some) mitigating action for this financial year and in the future, so it might help someone else. I realise that I am lucky to have made the money so I am not moaning - just sharing.
For those not in the UK, our tax year runs from 6th April 2016 - 5th April 2017. In that year, more to do with the increase in value than good trading, I made a healthy profit (£40k - £50k). I think it would probably be a good idea to pay tax, so that when I drop large amounts of cash from an overseas exchange into my account, I have some answers if anyone starts asking questions, and I don't want to wait until the HMRC get wise enough to track UK account holders bitcoin addresses in overseas exchanges. I do realise that I could put it all into Monero and keep quiet, but I would quiet like to pay off some of my mortgage.
Anyway, on to the source of my 'first world problem'. I have spoken to two pretty experienced tax advisors and they have advised me that this will be treated as Income Tax by HMRC. I have an income pretty much at the top of the 20% bracket, which means that all of the Bitcoin gains will be at 40%. Not only that, but as income I will also need to pay Class 4 NI which could be as much as 9%. In addition if you earn over £100k your personal allowance starts to go down. All of this means that I will be paying at least 40% on the gains and possibly up to 50% or higher effective rate.
I am aware that the HMRC paper from 2014 says it will treat trading like trading other currency (forex) and from this I assumed that it meant that it would be treated as capital gain tax. Both of the tax advisors I contacted said that it would clearly fall into the Income Tax definition.
Has anyone else been down this route, have your professional advisors said the same thing or something different? Advice that I should have found all this out earlier, while true, does not help much. Any feedback gratefully received. Thanks. [Tax]

A long story and lesson about trusting people and managing expectations

So I'm not sure I'd you guys will enjoy this story or if it will just be removed but I currently need to vent because well this happened. And I've lost alot of faith in people. If you don't feel like reading the whole thing I tried to put a TL;DR in each paragraph.
Trading- So to kindof preface the story, I am a young guy that is very interested in all things finance such as investing/trading. Because of this I got involved into the Foreign Exchange market(Forex) at the beginning of 2016 and I got very lucky going from $200 to ~$15,000 in 6 months and then unluckily went from ~$15,000 to $0 in less than a minute. So while I was trading this I still worked my normal job(military) and at this job people knew I was trading and doing quite well, they'd frequently ask where I'm at with my trading. So when I lost everything I still thought I will trade again but I'll wait until the new year of 2017. -TL;DR- 2016- Young, like finance, made alot of money, lost all of it and plan to try again.
First half of 2017- So during my trading in 2016 I had offered to alot of people at work that I would teach them or show them how to trade. At the time I really just wanted to have someone at work to talk about trading because all I really had was Reddit for Forex talk. So in 2017 I start up again and one of the Civilians I work with decides he wants to join me in trading (most military jobs have civilian slots where they do basically the same thing but get paid 2-3x more, in this case retired mil now civilian). So I help him get setup very excitedly because I finally have someone to talk about trading with he also says he will put in ~$200 to start with as well. So I think oh awesome I can teach you better since our accounts will be the same, so I trade by myself talking to let's call him Civ about trading consistently for about 3-4 weeks. One day suddenly Civ says "hey I put money into my account what are we trading today?" So obviously I'm like "awesome today I'm gonna trade this pair and I think it's a good setup" Civ says OK I put a trade in. So I go about my day and I don't see him until around the end of the day and our trade did go well, I had made about $45 on my at the time $130 account so I'm pretty happy at this point. So I see Civ and he's like super happy and this was our conversation Civ- "wow that was a good trade man" Me-"Yeah pretty good return for a day" Civ- "So how much did you make today?" Me- "I made $45 so like 40ish% pretty sweet" Civ- "man I made a little over $70,000" yes that is $70,000 Me- "....What the fuck? But how?" Civ- "well I kindof put in close to $75,000!" Me- "but even if you scaled up how did you make almost 100%?" Civ- "well I kindof just put in a trade as if I had $200,000 in the account, and then I did another one" So at this point I'm just completely blown away that he just made double what I make in a year in under 8 hours, but after the complete shock and awe wears off I'm legitimately happy for him because I helped in the trade but it definitely made my $45 feel like nothing.
So to speed this story up what I just said above actually happens about 3 more times to the point where he makes over $140,000 thanks to the trades that I let him know about. But eventually I start to seriously resent him cause his true character starts to show in a series of events. First he starts to claim the trades were all his idea never even giving me credit, second he never even thanks me for helping him make 4 times as much as I get a year. Third he Basicly tries to rub it in my face a few times throughout this mess saying things like "you should put more money in so you can make more" or "just put half you paycheck in" which is pretty much impossible considering I'm a young E3 at the time and I don't have just money to blow. And fourth he tries to throw me under the bus multiple times for things I didn't do at work. Now here comes in Dirtbags 1 and 2 these two are the worst enlisted personnel I've ever seen but are basically protected by Civ he always stands up for them to higher ups and keeps them from getting in trouble by blaming others for there mistakes and they know this(They will be important later on). There is alot of icing on the cake as far as these 3 but I'm not gonna make this story any longer than it has to be. TL;DR- Help Civ make shitloads of money, Civ shits on me and starts a Sortof witch hunt after me, no longer trade with Civ.
Civ in a nutshell- now this Summary of who Civ is isn't really important to the story(skip if ud like) but I felt a need to explain this guy so that people have an understanding of who I'm dealing with. Civ is Basicly a true narcissist he encompasses every meaning of the word. At work he chooses favourites and actively tries to ruin the careers of everyone that isn't his favourite and he's one of those people that laughs about everything he says, he does this so that he can decide based on your reaction if he wants it to be a joke or be serious since every "joke" is in a somewhat demeaning tone. He knows nothing about saving or investing in fact he actually gambles everyday via online poker or fantasy football, during football season hes openly said he gambles over $500 a day since he "wins quite frequently". He's a 45 year old man with a family and kids but he expects invites too all the house parties that people at work have and if he doesn't he has a legitimate hissy fit where I've seen him actually curse people out about how he will no longer invite anyone else to do anything with him(he doesn't do anything tho). He tries to be the guy at work thats "just so cool you gotta be friends with him" but there's a few of us who see straight through his lies and BS. TL;DR- Civ=Narcissistic man child with a gambling problem.
Second half of 2017- So I no longer really talk to Civ we talk work related stuff here and there at this point I know he's very two faced and selfish so I avoid him because I can see straight through it. In around July we have a conversation about the up and coming Crypto currencies I tell him I don't really have any idea how to judge if they will keep going up or not. Supposedly Civ buys 0.30-0.40 a Bitcoin(BTC) not sure the price he got it at. Around this time he was pestering me for trades everyday which at this point I'd lost what I put in so I was no longer trading. But when I'd tell him that he took it personally kindof as if I owe him more trades(wtf right?) So I just basically ignore his asshole tones and go about my day. Around this time Civ gets out of Forex he tells me he withdrew over $240,000. Also tells me he never told his wife he made anything and that she thinks he only has like $2,000 in the account(more signs of a gambling addiction).
FAST FORWARD to about 2-3 weeks ago- At this point I really don't care about Civ being ungrateful of all the money I've made him and in my life im getting hardcore into crypto currencies. I see BTC hit an insane high of over $18,000 and I see Civ the next day and ask about the BTC he bought he says he's still got it not paying attention to BTC at all tho so I tell him about it and how it could be a time to get out and get into something else so he says OK and that he will look into it. Next day Civ says hey I got out what should I do with it I want to keep it in Crypto, so I tell him about Litecoin and how it's cheaper and promising so he buys 55 Litecoin. (Why am I still helping this guy right? I have no idea)
FAST FORWARD to this week- Litecoin explodes to $335 a coin when Civ got in at $90 a coin so he makes about $18,000. I'm pretty happy for him because I called another good investment even tho my little $350 crypto account hardly moved, at this point I don't expect anything from Civ because I expect he's still two faced. This time I actually show him the Litecoin price at work and he's super happy and actually thanks me so I'm like wow that's surprising. But then proceeds to tell co-worker's that he did this on his own (of course). Civ then asks me what he should do now. So at this point I just think well whatever I'm used to this and I'm never getting anything out of this so what's one last investment that I give him gonna hurt right? So I tell Civ about other altcoins on Binance.com and how he needs to get a Binance account to get to them instead of his Currently Coinbase account so he is like okay cool.
NOW IT GETS FUCKING INTERESTING- so I tell Civ to get a Binance account and what Coins could be big here soon and he says he will make an account. Remember that Binance has a referral system going on and so I look into it and see that Binance would give me 50% OF WHAT HE DEPOSITS AS A REFERRAL REWARD AND IM FINALLY GONNA GET SOME SORT OF REWARD FOR ALL THE MONEY I'VE HELPED HIM MAKE AND IT WON'T COST HIM ANYTHING. It hits me like a freight train that if he uses my referral code I can get potentially $8,000 into my little coin account. I start to get excited BUT then remember who I'm dealing with so first I sent him my referral code and he says "cool no problem" then I start to think shit what if he forgets to put the code in so I text him again but this time IFU by saying
"Hey if you have any questions let me know just don't forget to put in my Referral code cause I get free BTC lol" .....TIFU by showing a narcissist how to fuck someone over....AGAIN.
So on the Binance referral page it shows you the first few letters of the person's email that used the referral and how much commission you have made from said person. Civ says he's going to make an account on Binance that night I say OK cool. That night my referral page gets one attached email that doesn't have letters I'm expecting so I'm kindof confused then I remember Civ is a 45 year old Neckbeard gamer so he likely had a wierd email address. No big deal, I see Civ next day at work and ask him how his account setup went (usually takes a few days) he says great and that DIRTBAG #2 also wants to get into crypto so he gave DB2 my referral code.
.... Wait a minute the email attached to my account was actually DB2s because the first letters are his Initials of his name no doubt about it. But I don't think this is wierd at the time I carry on through out my week.
UNTIL TODAY(Yes an actual TIFU) I see Civ at work (this is three days after he was supposed to setup his account and it still hasn't popped up on my referral list) and he says "I'm actually gonna not put money in to anything without doing research" this to me is wierd because for the last year he's made over $155,000 by literally doing no research and just listening to me. So I say cool whatever good idea. Meanwhile I'm also weirded out by how DB2 has not talked to me about crypto at all since using my referral code and he's been in this extremely happy mood lately so I'm like wtf is going on? Since I had taught DB2 Forex less than a year ago and he had the IQ of a house fly this strikes me as extremely odd compared to when I taught him last he wouldn't stop asking questions.
BUT THEN IT HIT ME today when I got home I checked my referrals again because I was still pretty excited for $8,000 and how much it will help me and my wife with Christmas this year and then seeing that he hasn't popped up on the referral list it dawned on me.
When I exposed that I would get free BTC to Civ he took it upon himself to have DB2 create an account on Binance and use my referral code so that I would think this was Civ meanwhile Civ put in DB2s referral code giving DB2 $8,000 and then he proceeds to lie to me. Going into investigative mode after calming down from an absolute rage I text DB2 knowing he literally knows Zero about crypto and my hypothesis being very very plausible I go to the weakest link directly and that's the low IQ DB2 and I start to talk to him about crypto first he says he has a Binance account with a bit of coins so I ask him what's next and he tells me he needs to get a coinbase account...... Which is Basicly the only way to put money into crypto so I ask him how he put money in before if he wasn't using coinbase and he says "I think it was Coinable.com" So I continue the conversation about crypto trying to get more of a clue of what Coins he owns he of course lists the exact list I gave Civ earlier that week . At this point I'm about 98% sure my hypothesis is correct and that I work with two of the most narcissistic people I've ever met. BUT THEN I get confirmation in the form of DB2 Being so clueless about crypto because he explains that he has "about 0.23 of BTC" which is roughly $4,000 which I know DB2 Does not have due to the fact that he recently totaled his 4th car this year.
So Civ had DB2 create an account on Binance in order to give DB2 $8,000 in free money and to avoid giving me a single dime even tho I'm the one that's helped him make over $155,000 this year and then continues to lie to me thinking that I'm to stupid to figure this out. This is the single most fucked up thing I've ever personally seen happen to someone, and of course that someone is myself.
Also to clarify the $8,000 does not come out of Civs pocket it comes out of Binances pocket as a thank you to getting people on their site so literally wouldn't cost Civ a dime.
TL;DR(FULL) I help a narcissistic piece of shit make over $155,000 in a year and he avoids giving me anything in return at all at all costs.
Now myself personally I made the mistake of putting myself in Civs shoes, you have a 21 year old guy at work that helps you make over a years salary and so I thought oh I'd totally being super appreciative and buy him lunch or maybe dgive him less than 1% of what he just earned you but this is where I really fucked up. In starting to put myself in his shoes I started to just completely resent Civ and everything about him because I started to feel like I deserve something. In the Forex community there are people who will trade your money for you or give you signals and those people can make lots of money either % returns of each trade or $ amounts for each signal. Looking back I shouldof come up with a Sortof contract after that first trade with Civ but at the time I didn't know what kindof person he really was.
I'm posting it here because it's kindof a lesson I've now learned on not to trust people to be decent to you in return when it comes to investing/trading I've learned that as you guys have probably seen or know about how certain people get extremely inflated ego when it comes to trading/investing. And if your ever in a situation where you could make someone alot of money just do yourself a favour and draft a small document of how that person should give you about 10% of what they make. That alone should tell you what you need to know about the person is how they react to signing a contract like that. Take it from a practically broke Enlisted member who just made a well off guy way more cushioned.

Predictions are becoming easier... (post for the newbies)

So as you might see from my history of post I have been struggling with the forex. Whether that be executing a trade, following my strategy to a T, or just making the right market predictions. Well today was the day I was able to show myself I can make the right predictions, execute the trade, and be able to explain to myself and other why I took it. Here is it how it went:
  1. Saw trendline for USD/JPY about to touch again and seemed extremely unlikely to break
  2. RSI was still high so all predicted it to crash down.
  3. at about 15-5 mins before the FOMC took place saw a pin bar
  4. Executed a sell on the pair and took profits about 40 pips down (could have held but I take what I can no sense in being greedy)
So for all you new peeps out their starting to research the forex and thinking you can easily get rich quick if you just learn it. I have been studying the Forex since September and it is now April... I just predicted and was able to tell what the market was going to do, how the IT could fake it out ( which I was also able to predict :)) and being confident enough to stay in it, and then only earning 40 pips for 6 months of work. So what should this experience should tell you: The market is kinda of like a sport (Football reference). You start out at age 5 and play flag football. Then you go from that to pads. Next comes working out everyday and practicing your skills just to start for the Varsity Team. If you are good and lucky enough you will be put on a College Team and be trained all year long and to the point where you might die. Lastly if you are one of the lucky few who makes it to the NFL and get paid the big bucks you will be working non-stop. You are always studying, practicing, reviewing your mistakes (thank the lord I am done with film on Saturday), making corrections and constantly adapting and learning to your environment.
This is not something easily learned. Hell I am an idiot compared to the guys who have been doing this for only 2 years. But as long as you stick with it and dedicate your time and energy you will learn it. It is not impossible I know it may feel like it is impossible to be able to predict this thing that anyone in the world can change but it simply is predictable. Have fun with the experience of learning the market. It is like a ride on a rollercoaster but only you determine when you are off of the ride.
